Death, evaporation … and same ole sayings

So, December and January did not treat me so well. I finally understand what pure exhaustion is! After traveling for the better part of six months (save for the month of December, when I was consumed with Holiday goings-on), I finally hit a wall. I’m off the road until June, so I’m starting to chill, think, write … without the underlying weight of worrying about all the prep I need to do for the next trade show or work event. I still have work on the mind, but at least I have time for other things, like blogging. In my …

2010: OK. So I’ve been a slacker … I admit it!

@World. I apologize for being a slacker, letting the spiders and dust mites overtake my blog. What can I write? Life has gotten in the way; and I’ve suffered from writer’s block, lost direction and an overall lack of interest in trying to come up with something interesting to write about. Preparing for the trip: Africa ’09

Well, traveling to a new country is always exciting. Before my first trip overseas 12 years ago this month, I stressed and planned and anticipated for nearly 12 months before the trip. This trip is bringing back …

Christmas cards? Hum bug!

I used to send Christmas cards every year, and I always put a fair amount of thought into them. I usually designed the cards myself, with some sort of funny image from the year I was getting ready to kiss good-bye. Making the cards gave me some enjoyment, so I didn’t mind so much the dreaded addressing and stamping of all of those suckers I had to mail out to a plethora of family and friends. These days, I say bah on the whole Christmas card thing … although I do I like getting the cards! And I’m leaning toward …

Getting ready for Christmas!

I’ve been trying to get into the Chrismas spirit, which sometimes is difficult for me. Last year, the Holidays were a bit of a blur. This year, I’m making a conscious effort to get into the mood! Last night, I got to see “A Christmas Carol” at Actors Theatre in Louisville. It was excellent … and just what the ole Christmas spirit needed. Now, I think I’m ready to head out to get some gifts for the Angel Tree!
